Hey Switched-On,
I'm addicted to text messaging. I can't stop doing it, when I'm with friends, family, or at school. What can I do to stop this obsession with texting?

Start off by trying to separate yourself from your phone. Whether that means leaving it at home, taking the battery out and giving it to a friend, or only using it for certain allotted times, you should try to explore other ways of communication. If that doesn't work, you might want to cancel your unlimited plan, so that you're more sparing with your messages.
Hello Switched-On,
A kid at school keeps sending me explicit pictures, even though I've told him to stop. What can I do to make him leave me alone?

Well, you should start by talking to the school authorities. From there, they'll probably make a decision on whether to alert police depending on the content of the pictures. Keeping this a secret is unfair to yourself, and it's not right that anyone sends you pictures you don't want to see.
Hi Switched-On,
I was wondering- are there any physical dangers to texting a lot?

Something that's been dubbed "Blackberry thumb,â which is when repeated button pressing causes a strain in your thumb, is probably the only big thing to watch out for. If it starts to hurt when you're texting your girlfriend or boyfriend you love them, maybe you should just call instead, and give your thumb a break.
